About Momiji-yado
A small inn that rests quietly in the hills of Arashiyama and Saga. A little off the main road, just past the bamboo grove.

The land of Arashiyama
Cross the Togetsukyo bridge, follow the Katsura river into the hills, and the path opens onto a bamboo grove. This is the land of Saga, recorded already in the Tale of Genji — a place that has carried the quiet melancholy of changing seasons since the Heian era. Momiji-yado nestles into its arms, very still.
The setting of the inn
Only a few guest rooms. In the inner garden stands a single camellia tree, planted by the previous proprietress. A seasonal flower in the alcove. A passage from the Tale of Genji on the writing desk. Nothing showy — we hope you enjoy the simple passing of time itself.

The seasons we set
- SpringWith the cherry blossoms, kimono of cherry-blossom motif.
- SummerRiverside seating, wind chimes, linen yukata. Cool arrangements.
- AutumnThe momiji season. Moon-viewing, chestnuts, visiting kimono of autumn leaves. The inn is at its brightest.
- WinterSnow-viewing baths, a brazier, the camellia in the garden. A season for remembering, too.
Please take your time with the four seasons of Arashiyama. — Momiji-yado
